Lessons from the Trail: Navigating Challenges in Business and Beyond

11 people at a trailhead in front of some trees standing on dirt ground. Several people in the group are wearing holiday or festive colors.

What a fantastic time on our UCLA Alumni holiday hike this past weekend! As we hiked, I was reminded of a key lesson we all encounter in business: success isn’t about avoiding obstacles but learning how to adapt, persist, and move forward despite the challenges. Whether it's climbing a steep hill or launching innovative technology, resilience, flexibility, and collaboration are critical to achieving success.

As a business and tech lawyer, I’m immersed in this regularly. Whether assisting a client in navigating the intricacies of data privacy and intellectual property, securing strategic partnerships, or managing risk, the same principles that guide us on the trail —persistence, adaptability, collaboration, and a clear focus on the goal —apply to help businesses successfully launch and grow.

I'm excited to carry the positive energy from the trail into the new year, and I’m looking forward to helping businesses tackle their legal challenges with the same resilience, flexibility, and collaboration we share on the trail. Save the date for our new year alumni hike on 2/2, more details coming soon!
