🚨 Net Neutrality Struck Down by Appeals Court 🚨

A recent ruling from the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals has dealt a blow to the FCC’s attempts to enforce net neutrality. The court ruled that the FCC does not have the authority to impose net neutrality rules on ISPs, rejecting the agency’s reclassification of ISPs under Title II of the Communications Act.

This decision comes after the Supreme Court’s 2024 overturning of Chevron deference, which had previously given regulatory agencies like the FCC more authority to interpret statutes. The Sixth Circuit’s ruling highlights the ongoing battle over the regulation of the internet, with implications for the future of a free and open internet.

What’s next? As the FCC loses its ability to regulate ISPs, it’s clear that the fight for net neutrality is far from over. FCC Chair Jessica Rosenworcel has called for Congress to step in and create legislation to safeguard an open internet.

The ruling is a pivotal moment in the ongoing debate about the regulation of the internet and the power of government oversight.
